WebbOk, the bass knob depends on the amp. Some have a headphone Jack, others have the ethernet style plug. It is typically a volume control for the sub amp. When I tune amps for customers I leave it plugged in and all the way up and I've never had an issue that way. I wouldn't upgrade it unless it just doesn't work.
