WebStill, you can probably still beat the monk. The trick is patience. Most other boss fights reward you for getting good deflects and keeping the aggro, this one is all about escaping his moves, and then rushing in to get 1 or two hits. It's a battle of attrition, and it feels more like a traditional Dark Souls boss in that regard.
